A popular Surf Coast eatery is set to expand with a new venue in Barwon Heads after securing a 1920s character home turned hospitality venue in the heart of town.

It also gives back to the community, donating a meal to an Australian child experiencing food insecurity for every person that dines there.
Co-director Simon Paramonov said he and his business partners were aiming for a November opening at their new venue at 64 Hitchcock Ave, Barwon Heads
They have already started work on revamping the former restaurant, which had sat vacant for some time after being put up for sale.
Records show Jellis Craig, Barwon Heads agent Andrew Ingham sold the 447sq m property at for $1.75m in May.
“As soon as we saw the look of it we fell it love with it straight away. Obviously we have a venue in the surf club at Anglesea which has a beachy feel,” Mr Paramonov said.
“Looking at this sort of venue it just made so much sense and we thought Barwon Heads was a great opportunity – it doesn’t really have anything like this.”
The covered front deck provides a sheltered outdoor dining space.
Flexible outdoor spaces add to the property’s appeal.
Almost four years after opening the original Love House, he said the team was also developing a new menu to roll out across both venues.
“We have worked hard on the flavours but we just want to elevate it and step it up again,” he said. “I think if people love the food already, they are going to be in for a treat.”
The previous owners of the building had renovated extensively to create a bungalow-style restaurant with period features, decking to the front and rear and a commercial kitchen.
But Mr Ingham said the Mixed Use Zoning (commercial and residential) had buyers mulling everything from converting the property back to a house, wellness studio or shared office space during the sales campaign.
“The town will certainly welcome them with open arms,” he said of the new owners.
