Another new Australia Post delivery centre has opened in South Australia, making it easier for local residents to shop online.
The purpose-built site in Murray Bridge is the second of four new facilities to open across the state – the first at Kadina opened last month with two more at Port Pirie and Tanunda yet to.
They have all been designed to increase the number of parcels that can be mailed across their regions and improve delivery speed as online shopping increases.
The 1142sqm Murray Bridge centre can process up to 2600 parcels per day, slightly more than the 2400 parcels per day at the new Kadina facility.

It is powered completely by rooftop solar and battery energy storage, just like the Kadina site.
Australia Post executive general manager of network operations Shane Plant said the investment would help ensure regional communities continued to receive reliable and efficient delivery services as parcel volumes grow.

“Online spend in South Australia rose 14 per cent to $5.6 billion last year, according to our latest Annual eCommerce Report.
“As more people shop online, particularly in regional areas, we’re continuing to invest in our regional network to keep pace with demand and changing customer needs, to deliver a better, more reliable service for our customers into the future.
“Designed to improve safety for our team members, increase capacity and streamline operations including transport flows, the new facility will help our team get parcels on the road faster and deliver them to our customers as efficiently as possible.
“It will also strengthen our ability to support local businesses, helping them reach more customers and grow through eCommerce,” said Mr Plant.
The Murray Bridge and Kadina delivery centre openings come as Australia Post builds a $500m Adelaide Parcel Super Hub, which is expected to open in 2028.
