Hong Kong billionaire Tony Fung is selling part of his Gold Coast thoroughbred equine estate Aquis Farm.
The sprawling 33.67ha Hinterland property — about five per cent of what Mr Fung owns in the greater Canungra area — is being marketed as ‘Hinterland Farm’.
“Hinterland Farm is a genuine turnkey equine facility with scale, infrastructure, water security and immediate operational capability,” said marketing agent Greg Benneworth, Landsec managing director.
“Properties of this calibre are rarely offered to market, particularly in a location with such strong access to the Gold Coast, Brisbane and the broader Scenic Rim region.”

Mr Fung paid $15m for the entire estate that was once part of bankrupt businessman Nathan Tinkler’s Patinack Farm.
It is understood Aquis is selling off some non-core property to focus on future real estate opportunities including the Sunlight Lifetyle Precinct project at Gold Coast Turf Club.
The Hinterland Farm property is home to extensive equine infrastructure, including a 2,000m grass training track, 1,900m sand track, multiple stable complexes, horse walkers, a lap pool, treadmill, offices, machinery sheds, accommodation and extensive paddock infrastructure.
“The property is suitable for thoroughbred training, agistment, breeding, equine services or private estate use,” he said.
“There is also potential for buyers to explore tourism, retreat uses, subject to the necessary approvals.”

Hinterland Farm is for sale via expressions of interest.
It comes almost a year after a separate group of landowners, which included Hinterland Farm, unveiled plans for a massive 742ha development in Wonglepong.
At the time, Mr Benneworth, also a spokesman for Canungra360, said their initiative reflected a co-ordinated and forward-thinking approach to regional planning.
The Canungra North Strategic Vision looks to address critical needs, including housing affordability, education infrastructure, sustainable growth, and the growing demand for eco and lifestyle tourism.
The Canungra360 group is in the process of preparing a submission to Scenic Rim Regional Council as part of a review of their planning scheme.
